- Have your building away from the compound walls. Allow more space on the East and North.
- Have your well, bore-well, sump dug in North the North-East.
- Have the building built at least three feet above the road level.
- Have your compound wall on all four sides.
- Let your building be oriented towards the cardinal directions only via East, South, East and North.
- Two shutter doors are best. Have a Swastika or Om installed on the main door.
- Keep the centre of the building and the centre of the plot free from any loads, beams, pillars, columns, wells etc.
- Keep the north and east open by having your veranda portion there.
- Grow tulsi, tumble ( sacred to lord ) and other herbal plants in the North-East.
- Place your cupboards containing important documents, currency, jewels, etc. in the corner of the South-West portion of the building so that they open towards North.
